Daylight under the ring
A feeler slips at the face side. The sleeve can walk. We reset epoxy or we name a new build, never a paint pen.

Ferrule Gap is a well-head log, not a cosmetics counter. Rhett reads the ring of light between ferrule and hosel the way a tender reads a packing gland: a bright gap means the sleeve can walk under Jonesboro humidity, or the epoxy starved on the day it was set. We do not bless a painted ring as a substitute for a seated nut.
Why a packing gland
Players arrive quoting a builder who said the ring was cosmetic. Cache River humidity does not read cosmetics. It reads whether the ferrule has already crept after two summers of levee heat, and whether a seven that still photographs tight in a garage is already showing daylight when the rice fields steam in July.
Sable Orr holds the feeler. Rhett Lang decides reset, leave, or retire the sleeve. Wynn Haskins names the ridge hour. Nobody here paints a gap to make a photograph happier.

02 · LANTERN
A black ring can hide a starved joint. We refuse to call paint a seal.
03 · NUT
The seven shows daylight; the wedge is still seated. That is a build date wearing a set costume. The log keeps them on separate wells.
Heard on Nettleton
I swore the ferrule was tight. Sable slid a feeler at the face and daylight showed. They reset the epoxy. RidgePointe stopped clicking on humid evenings.
Rhett asked whether I leave clubs in a truck on the levee. I said sometimes. Wynn said pick shade or own a creeping ring. Useful the way a gland nut is useful.
